Power2text are happy to help support events in the community. In the past we have been proud sponsors of the BKSA Kitesurfing event at Walney Island in Cumbria

Event Date 11th - 13th May 2007: BKSA Freestyle Kitesurfing Championship Round 2

The event was made possible with costs being met by the West Lakes Renaissance and sponsorship by Power2Text who provided all the SMS messaging promotions for the event. This included contacting competitors and Spectators during and before the event to inform of event locations and the latest event news.

The event was a great success even when the wind decided to not play. Practice day on the Thursday was attended by many pro's and even included the BKSA's Richard Gowers having a ride on the waves. The surprise of the event was when Aaron Adlow turned up and had a ride too on practice day. The main event days saw an awesome sight of more kites that has ever been seen on the island of Walney. This provided quite a spectacle for the casual viewer.

Saturday Evening saw the social event which including a live band, food and slide show. This was well attended and a good time was had by all. With dancing going on long into the night by all the attendees.
